Chris Mitchell

Biography

Chris is our Volunteer Coordinator and a seasoned healthcare reimbursement professional with over 30 years of experience, including the past 15 years dedicated to community health and community mental health centers.
She enjoys supporting uninsured and underinsured populations. She is a newly certified SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) Counselor in Indiana, where she assists Medicare-eligible individuals in navigating the complex enrollment process and helps them understand their coverage options. Chris also serves as Vice President of her local chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), supporting the professional growth and education of fellow medical coding and billing professionals.
As someone personally living with PBC, having gone undiagnosed for 13 years, Chris is
passionate about advocating for awareness, timely diagnosis, and supporting others affected by PBC.
