Biography

David A. Sass, MD FAASLD is the Rorer Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of Liver Transplantation at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr Sass received his MBChB degree with honors from the University of Cape Town Medical School, South Africa in 1992. He completed residency training and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, followed by a 4-year fellowship in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at the University of Pittsburgh. He was the recipient of a funded Schering-AASLD Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Award. He is currently triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology. He is a Past President of the Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology and is the President-Elect of the Philadelphia County Medical Society.
