Biography

Ian is an Associate Professor the University of Leeds and Honorary Consultant Hepatologist at the Liver Unit at St James's University Hospital. His research is focused on the diagnosis and outcomes of patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease and cirrhosis, including those relating to hepatocellular carcinoma and liver transplantation. He employs methods from analytical epidemiology through to clinical trials aiming to meaningfully impact the outcomes of patients with liver disease.

Ian is Associate Editor of Hepatology Communications, Chair of the UK National Liver Transplant Monitoring Group, and President of the British Association for the Study of the Liver.
