Biography

Kerry Sivia is a patient advocate living with metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD/MASH), autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), and cirrhosis. Since receiving her diagnoses in 2021, she has become a leading voice for patient-centered advocacy in hepatology care, focusing on multidisciplinary collaboration, health equity, and the lived experience of people affected by liver disease.

Kerry serves as a Dr. Stephen A. Harrison Patient Advocacy Fellow and collaborates with the Global Liver Institute, Fatty Liver Alliance, American Liver Foundation, and Madrigal Pharmaceuticals. She has contributed to education initiatives, listening sessions, and national campaigns that elevate the voices of people living with liver and metabolic conditions.

Recognized as the 2024 Chicago LIVEr Champion, Kerry has been featured in Forefront and Health Monitor and on WebMD for sharing her story and promoting awareness in early detection of liver disease. She continues to advance equitable care, culturally relevant education, and stronger clinician–patient partnerships across the field.
