Kevin R Leyden, RN

Biography

Kevin Leyden has been a registered nurse for nearly 15 years, with experience in
medical/surgical, emergency, and addictions nursing. He currently specializes in infectious
diseases, particularly hepatitis C. Since joining North Jersey Community Research
Initiative (NJCRI), Kevin has led the creation, development, and management of the
statewide HCV Elimination Program, which serves all 21 counties in New Jersey and has
coordinated care for over 2,200 patients. Through his efforts, he has built a network of
nearly 80 partners across the state, enabling the program to offer hepatitis C treatment to
anyone interested in pursuing a cure.
Kevin has long been involved in the substance use and treatment communities. He is a
member of the International Nurses Society on Addictions (IntNSA) and received the 2020
Davida Coady Gorham Medical Professional of the Year Award from NAADAC, the
Association for Addiction Professionals. Additionally, Mr. Leyden serves as the Research
Nurse Coordinator at NJCRI and has presented numerous abstracts at both national and
international conferences.
