Biography

Longgang Zhao is a postdoctoral researcher at Yale School of Nursing with expertise in nutritional epidemiology and cancer prevention. His research centers on the role of diet, metabolism, and inflammation in the development of liver disease and liver cancer. He has extensive experience working with large-scale prospective cohort studies, including the Nurses' Health Study (NHS), Health Professionals Follow-up Study (HPFS), Women's Health Initiative (WHI), UK Biobank, NIH-AARP, Southern Community Cohort Study (SCCS), Shanghai Women's Health Study (SWHS), Shanghai Men's Health Study (SMHS), and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). He also conducts pooled analyses and meta-analyses across populations. Dr. Zhao leverages high-dimensional data approaches, including proteomics and metabolomics, to identify early biomarkers and elucidate biological pathways linking lifestyle factors to liver health. He has published in leading journals such as JAMA, Journal of Hepatology, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and Clinical Nutrition, and is actively involved in multi-center collaborations aimed at advancing prevention strategies for liver disease and liver cancer.
