Biography

Dr. Ramesh Batra is a Tenured Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona, where he serves as Division Chief and Director of Abdominal Transplantation at the Banner University Medical Center. A devoted surgeon and thought leader, he is advancing the future of transplantation by integrating artificial intelligence and deep machine learning with the art and science of surgery.
Equally dedicated to the human side of medicine, Dr. Batra is also Professor of Applied Ethics at the Dolan School of Business, where he teaches "Ethics of Healthcare" and mentors future leaders to approach innovation with compassion, fairness, and integrity.
Bringing together the roles of surgeon, scientist, and educator, Dr. Batra is committed to transforming transplantation medicine while keeping ethical principles and patient-centered care at the heart of progress.
