Biography

Dr. Ryan Gill is a Professor of Pathology at UCSF and Director of Anatomic Pathology Laboratories at the Helen Diller Medical Center. A recognized international expert in liver pathology, Dr. Gill specializes in adult and pediatric liver disease, liver transplantation, and liver tumors. His research focuses on MASLD/MASH and liver neoplasia, and he has authored over 140 publications, including contributions to "Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease" and "Mills and Sternberg's Diagnostic Surgical Pathology." He is an editor of Elsevier's "Surgical Pathology: A Case-Based Approach" series and "Gastrointestinal Pathology and Liver Metastases." Dr. Gill earned his MD and PhD from the University of Kansas, followed by residency and fellowships in hematopathology and GI/liver pathology at UCSF. He is a lifetime member of the International Liver Pathology Study Group (The ELVES) and provides expert hepatopathology consultations worldwide.
