Dr. Ryan Gill is a Hepatobiliary pathologist who specializes in the diagnosis and evaluation of adult and pediatric liver disease, liver transplantation, and liver neoplasia and lymphoma. In his research, he focuses on diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options for medical liver disease (in particular MASH), liver transplantation, liver neoplasia, and extranodal lymphoma. Dr. Gill received an M.D. and Ph.D. at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, KS. He then completed a combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency, followed by fellowships in hematopathology and gastrointestinal & hepatobiliary pathology at UCSF. Dr. Gill is a member of several professional organizations and was elected as a lifetime member of the International Liver Pathology Study Group (The ELVES) in 2017. Dr. Gill has published >100 peer-reviewed articles, over 30 books or book chapters (including the liver and gallbladder chapter in Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease), and lectures around the world. Dr. Gill is a Professor in the UCSF Department of Pathology and Director of Anatomic Pathology Laboratories at the Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights.
