Dr. Tinsay Woreta is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed her medical and MPH degrees as well as Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Her clinical and research interests are focused on the diagnosis and management of patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease. She serves as the expert hepatologist in the Johns Hopkins Healthful Eating, Activity and Weight Program, which is a multi-disciplinary clinic dedicated to improving clinical outcomes for patients with overweight/obesity and its associated complications which was established in 2020. She is a co-investigator of the NASH Clinical Research Network and HIV NASH Clinical Research Network. Dr. Woreta is also the Program Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship and Director of Education for the Gastroenterology Division at Johns Hopkins. She served as the Program Director of the Transplant Hepatology/Advanced Hepatology Fellowship Programs from 2018-2024.
