Biography

Dr. Adnan Said is a Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology within the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin (UW) School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, WI. He also serves as program director of the UW Health Transplant hepatology Fellowship, Director of the UW Health Metabolic Liver Clinic and as Medical Director of the VA Liver Transplant Program.Dr. Said's research focuses on advanced liver disease, particularly on the growing epidemic of metabolic dysfunction associated steatosis liver disease (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease ) and metabolic syndrome. He is also involved in biomarker and screening trials for liver cancer as well as in development of noninvasive technologies in fatty liver disease and portal hypertension including hepatorenal syndrome. Dr. Said has served on the Practice Guidelines Committee of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the Finance committee and Public Policy Committee of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and currently serves as chair of the Clinical Research Committee of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and is a fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD).
