Description

Accurate identification of fibrotic metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is critical for risk stratification, treatment selection, and referral. Liver biopsy, however, is neither feasible nor appropriate for most patients. Faculty provide a practical, case-based discussion of noninvasive approaches to detecting fibrotic MASH including serum-based scores, elastography, and emerging biomarkers. Speakers emphasize test selection, interpretation in real-world practice, common pitfalls, and strategies for integrating noninvasive tools into efficient clinical workflows across diverse patient populations.

Objectives

  • Compare available noninvasive tests for detecting fibrotic metabolic dysfunctionassociated steatohepatitis (MASH), including strengths, limitations, and appropriate clinical use.
  • Interpret noninvasive fibrosis results in common and challenging clinical scenarios, including discordant or indeterminate findings.
  • Review integration of noninvasive fibrosis assessment into practical care pathways for diagnosis, referral, and longitudinal monitoring of persons with suspected MASH.
