Tassos Grammatikopoulos, MD(Res)
Biography
Dr. Tassos Grammatikopoulos is a Consultant in Paediatric Hepatology at King's College Hospital and Senior Lecturer at King's College London. With over 20 years of experience in pediatric medicine, he holds prestigious Fellowships from both the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (FAASLD) and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH).
Internationally recognized for his expertise in pediatric portal hypertension and cholestasis, Dr. Grammatikopoulos leads groundbreaking research in these fields. He chairs the ESPGHAN Portal Hypertension Special Interest Group and serves as a faculty panel member for the prestigious Baveno VIII meeting. He is a key member of the international VALDIG, NAPPED & TreatFIC consortia studying Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis (PFIC), the International Multicenter Pediatric Portal Hypertension Registry (IMPPHR) and has been principal investigator in several multinational clinical trials.
Currently chairing the National Liver Advisory Group's Paediatric Subgroup for NHS Blood and Transplant, Dr. Grammatikopoulos has published over 70 original research papers in leading journals.
Dr. Grammatikopoulos received his medical degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his MD(Res) in Liver Molecular Genetics at King's College London. His contributions to pediatric hepatology have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Alex Mowat Prize, Clinical Excellence Awards, and a King's Commendation for outstanding service to King's College Hospital.
