MTE #4 Programmed Cell Death: Mechanisms and Pathways

Nov 08 2025
Convention Center: Room 149, Level 1
7:00 AM - 7:45 AM
Ticketed Event

Description

Subject matter experts compare and contrast the different types of cell death in homeostasis and liver injury, such as apoptosis, necrosis, autophagy, necroptosis, ferroptosis, and pyroptosis, among others. Topics include: characterization of identification of the different modalities of cell death; the role of cell death in various liver diseases; signaling cascades and molecular mechanisms of cell death; and potential therapeutic strategies.

Journey Maps

Objectives

  • Describe the various types of cell death and their role in the physiology and pathology of liver disease.
  • Compare and contrast mechanisms of cell death, including pathways, signaling cascades, and signaling molecules.
  • Discuss the role of cell death inhibitors and their effect on liver disease progression.
  • Identify factors that regulate the type of cell death that occurs.
