AASLD invites nominations to recognize leaders advancing hepatology; recipients will be honored at The Liver Meeting® 2026

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) has opened nominations for its 2026 Distinguished Awards, the organization’s highest honors recognizing sustained impact in hepatology.

Each year, award recipients are celebrated at The Liver Meeting® (TLM), the premier global convening in liver disease, where their achievements are recognized before peers and leaders from across the field.

2026 Award Categories include:

  • Distinguished Achievement Award: Recognizes sustained scientific contributions to liver disease and the scientific foundations of hepatology.
  • Distinguished Clinician Educator/Mentor Award: Honors long-term excellence in teaching and mentoring within the hepatology community.
  • Distinguished Service Award: Recognizes exceptional and sustained service to AASLD and the field.
  • Distinguished Advocacy Award: Honors sustained advocacy that advances liver health and improves patient care. New for 2026, patients may submit a nomination for this award in collaboration with an AASLD member.

Nominations open March 2 and close April 1. Following an April review period, recipients will be notified in mid-May and formally recognized at The Liver Meeting® Awards and Honors Gala on November 7, 2026, in Denver, CO.

Peer and self-nominations are welcome. Nominees do not need to be AASLD members.
