AASLD seeks a talented and experienced Director, Membership and Marketing.  The incumbent will lead AASLD’s membership and marketing functions. The Director will be responsible for developing the strategy, planning, and organizing of the membership and marketing programs by using data analytics to inform strategic approaches and refine campaigns based on performance metrics. The Director oversees the implementation of marketing, branding and communication strategies, integrating them across AASLD. Develops strategic plans to support membership retention and recruitment to drive revenue and meet AASLD business objectives. The Director, Membership and Marketing manages and develops the Senior Manager, Events, Senior Manager, Brand Development, Senior Manager, Membership, the Manager, Marketing.

The Director oversees and manages the implementation of targeted solicitation strategies for AASLD/F’s fundraising efforts in annual giving, major gifts, private foundation, and corporate giving, planned giving, and comprehensive campaigns; solicits grant support for research and travel awards; solicits corporate support for AASLD/F initiatives. The Director manages and develops a team of high performers who demonstrate strong commitment to supporting increasing member donor engagement; furthering diversification and strengthening AASLD/F revenue streams with a long-term target of financial independence; achieving higher levels of philanthropy to encourage scientific discovery, increase the number of physicians and health care professionals, and share cutting-edge hepatology knowledge with physicians worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in relevant area, or other related field equivalent work experience. Requires 6-8 years of experience in a similar role and advanced subject matter expertise. Requires knowledge of key programmatic, operational, and financial issues and priorities. Direct fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in securing gifts ($100K+) in healthcare environment preferred. Certified Fundraising Executive is highly desired.  Candidate will have the ability to travel.

AASLD, an association for scientists and health care providers in the field of liver disease, is seeking a Senior Manager, Patient Engagement who will support the engagement of liver disease patients with the dual aim of informing the work of AASLD and improving health outcomes.

The role of Senior Manager, Patient Engagement will lead efforts to engage liver disease patients to improve health outcomes and to increase patient involvement/support of AASLD. Incumbent will be responsible for developing the patient engagement programs and activities in the Foundation and Patient Engagement department. Develops and manages the patient experience to facilitate the patient / AASLD partnership by organizing and implementing in-person and virtual programs and represents AASLD in the patient facing community.  Oversees and ensures the successful implementation of educational programs, networking, and sessions for Patient Engagement. Serves as the staff liaison to the Patient Advisory Group.

The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset, is flexible, driven, innovative, highly organized, and a versatile self-starter with outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.  The position requires a minimum of five-plus years of professional experience in volunteer/committee management, membership engagement industry for a professional society or association.  Some travel is required.

AASLD, an association for scientists and healthcare providers in the field of liver disease, seeks a talented marketing manager to join our marketing and communications team. The Manager, Social Media & Marketing is responsible for all social media-related communication for AASLD and AASLD Foundation, including the development and management of a regular social media editorial calendar.

The Manager will produce social media strategies to support AASLD and AASLD Foundation marketing campaigns. The incumbent will play a key role on the Marketing and Communications team by executing social media marketing plans and tactics tailored for key audiences and stakeholders. Helps identify opportunities to promote AASLD membership and assists in the execution of AASLD membership marketing campaigns through social media channels. In coordination with the Senior Manager, Brand Development, this position supports association-wide marketing efforts and brand elevation strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area or equivalent work experience in a related field. This position requires a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in social media marketing, and communications, or public relations. Previous experience at a professional society or medical education provider is a plus, but not required. This position requires project management experience, knowledge of media platforms, and best practices. The candidate should be experienced in creating social media campaigns across platforms. Individuals must be highly organized with keen attention to detail and be able to work both independently as well as in a collaborative team.
