The Clinical Informatics and Digital Health Special Interest Group (CIDH SIG) is dedicated to fostering a dynamic, multidisciplinary community of healthcare professionals committed to advancing clinical informatics and digital health in hepatology. We strive to enhance patient care through collaboration, education, and integration of innovative technology to ultimately improve outcomes in liver disease treatment and management.
Vision
To be a leading collaborative network that empowers hepatology professionals through the strategic use of digital tools and informatics, driving innovation and excellence in research, clinical practice, and education while ensuring the ethical and effective use of technology in patient care.
Goals
- Community Building: Create an inclusive platform for networking, mentorship, and collaboration among members interested in clinical informatics and digital health in hepatology.
- Innovation Advancement: Promote interdisciplinary research and innovation by facilitating partnerships among hepatologists, surgeons, advanced practice providers, informaticists, and data scientists to enhance the application of AI, EHR optimization, and patient-centered digital solutions.
- Education and Training: Organize workshops, webinars, and conference sessions that focus on clinical informatics, implementation science, and the use of digital health tools, empowering members through continuous professional development.
- Advisory Resource: Serve as a vital advisory body for AASLD on digital transformation initiatives, providing insights on EHR optimization, data governance, AI technologies, remote monitoring, and ethical considerations to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Technical Expertise Hub: Establish a core group of experts within AASLD that offers support and guidance on clinical informatics and digital innovation projects, including collaborations on abstract submissions and AASLD Foundation awards.
