About AASLD Impact Award
The new AASLD Impact Award was created to address recognition gaps by celebrating members who are making significant contributions now and are on a clear trajectory toward future leadership in AASLD and the field.
Early to mid-career AASLD members who are shaping the future of hepatology through innovation, leadership, and meaningful contributions across research, clinical care, education, and mentorship are eligible and encouraged to self-nominate or nominate a peer.
Award Eligibility
Nominations must adhere to the following eligibility criteria:
- Be an AASLD member in good standing.
- Be within 20 years of fellowship completion (excluding interruptions).
- Demonstrate meaningful contributions to hepatology and engagement with AASLD.
Nomination Information
- Nomination Period: June 15 through July 15, with awards announced in August.
- Who Can Submit a Nomination:
- All active AASLD members are eligible to submit proposals through the portal.
- If someone comes to mind, they’re likely a strong candidate. And it takes less than 10 minutes to nominate them. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.

- Nominators will complete a brief online form including nominee name, institution, and contact information.
- Step 2: Complete Application (by invitation)
- Selected nominees will be invited to submit:
- Personal statement
- Letter of reference
- Abridged CV (maximum four pages)

All materials will be submitted through AASLD’s awards platform. The initial nomination takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Selected nominees will be invited to submit additional materials.

Recipients of the AASLD Impact Award will receive:
- Complimentary registration to The Liver Meeting® (TLM).
- Recognition at the Awards & Honors Gala and one complimentary guest ticket.
