The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) is deeply saddened to hear about the Kahramanmaras earthquake that has caused thousands of injuries and deaths, and widespread devastation in Turkey and Syria. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this terrible tragedy.
The AASLD – TASL CONNECT event was set to take place on February 10-11, 2023 in Ankara, Turkey, and planned to feature many AASLD member speakers. This event has now been postponed until further notice due to the earthquake.
“Our hearts go out to our colleagues at the Turkish Association for the Study of Liver (TASL) and all people throughout Turkey and Syria,” said AASLD President, Norah Terrault, MD, MPH, FAASLD. “TASL can expect a strong and continued partnership with AASLD. We stand with you all.”
