I happily wear the label of physician-scientist and am on the faculty of Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California. Rather than describing myself, I would rather tell you about some of our research. Since my Fellowship, my basic science has focused on the liver sinusoidal endothelial cell, the LSEC.

Dr. Hilscher is a Transplant Hepatologist and physician-scientist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She has NIH funding with a K08 Career Development Award with which she investigates the mechanisms of portal hypertension. She has a particular research and clinical interest in vascular diseases of the liver including Fontan associated liver disease.

Dr. Valerie Gouon-Evans is Professor of Medicine, Gastroenterology Section, Center for Regenerative Medicine, Boston University School of Medicine, Boston Medical Center.

I am a molecular and vascular biologist specialized in the liver heterogeneity, I have a broad background in biology and bioinformatic analysis that allow me studing the molecular mechanisms controlling the vascular fate and its influence on organ homeostasis. My research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating endothelial cell signature and adaptability to expand the "Vascular Medicine" field. The ovearching goal of my laboratory is to develop novel strategies to heal the liver throught recovering the regenerative function of its blood vessels.

Dr. Patil completed her Internal Medicine Residency at New York University - Brooklyn and her Fellowship in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In 2018, she shifted from a general Hepatology clinical practice to a focus on building and scaling a MASH clinical research program. She is the Founder of South Texas Research Institute (STRI), the premier private clinical research site network originating in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Beginning as one site and five employees in 2020, STRI grew to 2 locations and over 30 team members in 2022.
