Amanda Chaney is a nurse practitioner and Senior Director of Advanced Practice Provider Services at Cleveland Clinic in Florida, staffing over 470 nurse practitioners (including nurse anesthetists), physician assistants, and certified anesthesiologist assistants. Prior to this role, Dr. Chaney served at Mayo Clinic as chair of advanced practice and practiced as a transplant hepatology nurse practitioner.
Dr. Yee Lee Cheah graduated with honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2000 and obtained her AFRCS, Ireland, in 2003. She completed her General Surgery Residency at the Brown University Program in Providence, Rhode Island in 2008, and her ASTS accredited fellowship in Transplantation & Hepatobiliary Surgery at the Lahey Clinic in 2010. She is currently the Surgical Director for the Robotic Living Donor Liver Program at the Department of Surgery, Houston Methodist Hospital. <br>Dr.
Dr. Kristopher Croome is a Professor of Surgery at Mayo Clinic Florida practicing both transplant and hepatobiliary surgery.<br><br>He completed his surgical residency at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He took time during his residency and completed a graduate degree in epidemiology and statistics from Harvard University as well as a research fellowship through Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical center in Boston.
Dr. AnnMarie Liapakis is the Medical Director of Living Donor Liver Transplantation at the NYU Langone Transplant Institute. Dr. Liapakis received her medical degree from Albert Einstein School of Medicine and completed training in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and Advanced/Transplant Hepatology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Manhal Izzy is a Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University. He serves as the director for the Transplant Hepatology fellowship program and the director of Hepatology research. His research investigates the cardiometabolic disorders in patients with chronic liver disease and liver transplant recipients with a special focus on Cirrhotic Cardiomyopathy. Dr. Izzy's research has received funding from the NIH. He has published over 100 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He currently serves as associate editor for Liver Transplantation.
Dr. Sharma, Professor of Medicine, is a transplant hepatologist and health services researcher with a joint appointment at University of Michigan and VA Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her clinical and research interests include complications of portal hypertension, liver transplant outcomes pertaining to allocation, access and disparities and renal dysfunction before and after liver transplant with special focus of hepatorenal syndrome. She has been an AASLD member for over twenty years and served on many committees and SIGs. She is currently serving as Chair of Liver Transplant and Surgery SIG.
Andrea Wilson Woods is a writer, speaker, and patient advocate dedicated to improving liver cancer outcomes. She is the founder of Blue Faery: The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association, named after her sister, who died from the disease at age 15. With a background in teaching, storytelling, and nonprofit leadership, she blends compassion with strategic insight to drive change in healthcare. Andrea's mission is to ensure no one faces liver cancer alone, turning personal loss into a powerful force for awareness and action.
Bonnie Pickard is an RN BSN whose clinical practice areas include mental health and case management. Bonnie met her husband, Warren, in Memphis while playing soccer and became his goalie for life. They were married for 39.5 years at the time he passed away from HCC in 2021. They have two daughters and three grandchildren. She resides in Huntsville, Alabama; her husband's career as an electro-optics engineer in the defense industry led them to relocate there. As a 23-year breast cancer survivor, Bonnie's interest in navigating health care is personal and professional.
Dr. Ashley Spann is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition with a secondary appointment in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She completed internal medicine training at Duke University Medical Center followed by fellowships in gastroenterology, clinical informatics, and transplant hepatology at Vanderbilt along with a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Informatics.
