MicroRNA‐26a suppresses angiogenesis in human hepatocellular carcinoma by targeting hepatocyte growth factor‐cMet pathway

Since angiogenesis is important for tumor growth and metastasis, we investigated the possible roles of miR‐26a in tumor angiogenesis. Down‐regulation of miR‐26a was found to correlate with an increased angiogenic potential of HCC.

We investigated the composition of the portal inflammatory infiltrate and its relationship to the ductular reaction (DR), a second portal phenomenon implicated in fibrogenesis.

In a murine model of intravenous hepatotropic adenovirus infection, liver‐primed antiviral CD8+ T cells fail to produce proinflammatory cytokines and do not display cytolytic activity characteristic of effector CD8+ T cells generated by infection at an extrahepatic, that is, subcutaneous, site.

Noninvasive in vivo magnetic resonance measures of glutathione synthesis in human and rat liver as an oxidative stress biomarker

We have developed methods for noninvasive assessment of hepatic OS defenses by measuring flux through the glutathione (GSH) synthesis pathway. 13C‐labeled GSH is endogenously produced and detected by in vivo magnetic resonance after administration of [2‐13C]‐glycine.

Living donor liver transplantation for obese patients: Challenges and outcomes
