Michael Li

Dr. Michael Li is a transplant hepatologist and gastroenterologist who specializes in caring for patients with cirrhosis, autoimmune liver disease, and liver cancer.

Dr. Li's research focuses on the relationship between the immune system and liver disease. This includes autoimmune diseases like primary sclerosing cholangitis as well as the use of immunotherapy to treat liver cancer. He seeks to perform meaningful clinical and translational research to achieve a better understanding of immune-mediated liver diseases.

Shari Rogal

Shari Rogal is a transplant hepatologist and co-Director of the Dissemination and Implementation Science Core for the VA's Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Surgery, and Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pittsburgh where her research focuses on using precision implementation to improve the equity and quality of care for complex patient populations.

Ian A Rowe

Ian is an Associate Professor the University of Leeds and Honorary Consultant Hepatologist at the Liver Unit at St James's University Hospital. His research is focused on the diagnosis and outcomes of patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease and cirrhosis, including those relating to hepatocellular carcinoma and liver transplantation. He employs methods from analytical epidemiology through to clinical trials aiming to meaningfully impact the outcomes of patients with liver disease.

Terry Cheuk-Fung Yip

Terry Yip is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics and Co-Director (Data Science) of the Medical Data Analytics Centre at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on chronic hepatitis B and MASLD. He is devoted to real-world big data research to understand the epidemiology, natural history, assessment, treatment, and clinical outcome prediction of chronic hepatitis B and MASLD through rigorous statistical analyses and cutting-edge data analytics. He has over 190 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Richard K Sterling

Dr. Sterling received his BS in Chemistry and Natural Science from Muhlenberg College in Allentown Pa in 1982, a Master's in Biochemistry from the University of Texas in Austin in 1984, a MD from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1988 and a Master's in Biostatistics and Clinic Research from VCU in 2007. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1991 and Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology from VCU in 1994.

Sharad I Wadhwani

Sharad Wadhwani is a pediatric hepatologist and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. He research lies at the intersection of pediatric hepatology, population health, and health systems improvement.

Stuart J. Forbes

Stuart J Forbes is Professor of Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, Director of the Institute for Regeneration and Repair (IRR), and a Consultant Hepatologist at the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit.

Albert Do

Dr. Do is a board-certified hepatologist and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at UC Davis Health, where he specializes in general and transplant hepatology, seeing all types of liver diseases and with a passion for steatotic liver disease (metabolic and alcohol-associated liver disease). He provides care to patients with a broad spectrum of general hepatology conditions and is also a member of the UC Davis Liver Transplant Center, offering expertise in pre- and post-transplant management. Alastair J O'Brien

Professor O'Brien (UCL and The Royal Free) used to run a laboratory group but was lucky enough to progress an idea from bench to trial and, even though it did not work, found he much preferred doing clinical trials in cirrhosis. He has been very fortunate to deliver the ATTIRE & ASEPTIC UK clinical trials and will shortly begin another, even larger trial, APEACH (The Apixaban to Prevent dEcompensation of eArly liver CirrHosis trial). Hopefully he will be able to do at least one or two more following this daunting task.
