Dr. Whitney Jackson is an Associate Professor in Medicine and the Medical Director of Living Donor Liver Transplantation at the University of Colorado. Her clinical and research interests is in the role of liver transplantation for the "low-MELD" patient, with expertise in living donor liver transplantation and the living donor evaluation.

Dr. Kwon finished his medical education, residency training in general surgery, and fellowship in liver transplantation and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgical oncology in Korea where he started a laparoscopic liver program in 2008 and then a laparoscopic living donor program in 2013 and developed it to one of the largest MIS living donor programs in the world. He moved to the US in 2017, first to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and then to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio in 2018 where he is the Director of Minimally Invasive Liver Surgery and Head of HPB Surgery.

Elizabeth A. Pomfret, MD, PhD is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. She is an established multi-organ transplant surgeon with additional surgical training in Live Donor Liver Transplantation. Dr. Pomfret is an international leader within the field of transplantation, and served as the Executive Editor of Transplantation, the most highly cited journal in the field of organ transplantation from 2015-2019.

I am currently a Transplant Hepatology Fellow at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I graduated from the University of Jordan and completed my Internal Medicine residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. My clinical interests include portal hypertension and autoimmune hepatitis.

Dr. Ismail Elkhattib is a Transplant Hepatology fellow at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Originally from Egypt, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Connecticut. His academic interests include liver transplantation, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), hepatocellular carcinoma, and the gut microbiome's role in immune regulation. He is dedicated to advancing clinical research and improving outcomes for patients with advanced liver disease.

Bridgette B. McNally, D.O. is currently a 3rd year GI fellow at the Mayo Clinic Arizona and will be completing her Transplant Hepatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic Arizona in 2026-2027. She is particularly interested in and passionate about autoimmune and cholestatic liver disease.

I am from Pakistan, where I completed my early education, and pursued medical school in Cuba. After returning to Pakistan, I completed my residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology. Upon passing the fellowship exam, I began working as an attending physician at one of the largest transplant centers in the country. Later, I decided to explore opportunities abroad, considering the United States as the best option.

Dr. Malhi is a consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology with a joint appointment in Physiology and a Professor of Medicine and Physiology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. She currently serves as the Vice Chair for the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Malhi's laboratory studies lipotoxic endoplasmic reticulum stress, with particular research interest in mechanisms of liver injury and inflammation in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis pathogenesis.

Robert S. Brown, Jr., MD, MPH, FAASLD is the Vincent Astor Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. He received his AB from Harvard College, his MD from New York University and an MPH from the University of California, Berkeley. He did his residency at Beth Israel Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at UCSF.
