Dr. Green's expertise includes regulation of gene transcription and lipid metabolism in the context of metabolic disease and cancer. His expertise focuses on understanding how Western diet-induced changes in metabolism, particularly sphingolipids, contribute to the development of obesity-related metabolic disease and cancer.
Dr Ward directs the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination of the Task Force for Global Health providing a community of practice for partners in over 90 countries to collaborate, receive technical assistance, and operational research. Globally, Dr Ward advises hepatitis elimination activities of national governments, WHO, Africa CDC and other organizations. Over a 13 year tenure, Dr Ward directed the CDC Division of Viral Hepatitis developing policies for hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccination and hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
Prof. Oana Săndulescu is Full Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, and senior specialist in Infectious Diseases and specialist in Epidemiology at the National Institute for Infectious Diseases "Prof. Dr. Matei Balș", Romania.
Dr Conway received his medical degree from McGill University in 1982. After his internship and residency, he completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Manitoba and a fellowship in HIV medicine at Harvard University. Since that time, he has been in medical practice with a focus on HIV, HCV, and other infectious diseases. Dr. Conway's efforts in the advancement of healthcare have been awarded with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal of Recognition for significant contribution to the field of HIV/AIDS and vulnerable populations in Canada.
Dr. Liangpunsakul is a Professor of Medicine, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Indiana University. His research focuses on basic, translational, and clinical studies to determine the pathogenesis of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). He is the principal investigator of research projects funded by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (Merit Review) as well as the National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIAAA). He has authored or co-authored more than 250 peer-reviewed articles.
Dr. Brittany Bromfield earned her medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Education Program. She is currently a gastroenterology and hepatology fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Her clinical and research interests include alcohol-related liver disease (ALD), MetALD, MASLD, and obesity, with a focus on the intersection of metabolic dysfunction and addiction.
Dr. Reem Sharaiha is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She is the Chief of endoscopy as well as the director of Interventional and Therapeutic endoscopy as well as the director of bariatric and metabolic endoscopy. She is a pioneer in the field and an expert advanced endoscopist in pancreaticobiliary disease and in endoscopic (non surgical) treatment for weight loss and the improvement of weight-related health conditions.
Dr. Bilal Hameed is the Professor of Medicine and the Ambutatory Chair of Hepatology at the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco. He is the Director of the Fatty Liver Clinic at UCSF.
Dr Giada Sebastiani is a Professor of Medicine and Clinician Scientist at the McGill University Health Centre. Her clinical and research expertise focuses on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and non-invasive diagnostics in liver disease, with a strong emphasis on vulnerable and underserved populations. She leads a nationally-funded research program, integrating epidemiology, patient-centered strategies, and policy translation. Dr Sebastiani is the President of the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver, and co-founder of the Canadian MASLD Network.
Professor Diana Alcantara-Payawal currently serves as Professor II at Fatima University Medical Center and Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Fatima University Medical Center–Valenzuela. She also chairs the Liver Committee under the Section of Gastroenterology at Cardinal Santos Medical Center, where she likewise leads the Committee on Continuing Medical Education.
