Her clinical, educational, and research efforts focus on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) literacy among healthcare professionals, with the goal of equipping clinicians to safely, effectively, and responsibly integrate AI into clinical practice amid rapidly evolving technologies.
Dr. Serper is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a transplant hepatologist with expertise in epidemiology, health services research, patient-oriented research and digital health. Her research works studying clinical outcomes in cirrhosis and designing interventions to improve health outcomes of patients with chronic advanced liver disease, alcohol-associated liver disease, and liver transplantation.
David D. Lee, MD is Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Surgical Director of Liver Transplantation and Quality Director at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusetts. He also serves as Associate Editor of Liver Transplantation.
I am a Transplant Hepatologist and Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF. I am the Director of our Liver Cancer Multidisciplinary Program as well as the Medical Director of our Live Donor Liver Transplantation program. My research focus is primarily on selection criteria and liver transplant outcomes for patients with HCC including with respect to down-staging, incorporation of biomarkers, and improving transplant access.
Dr. Taner is a Professor of Surgery and Consultant in Immunology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. He is the Chair of the Division of Transplantation Surgery at the same institution. His clinical practice involves liver transplantation, living donor hepatectomies and nephrectomies. His research focuses on liver transplant immunobiology, investigating interactions between liver allografts and host immune responses. He is the current co-Editor-in-Chief of Liver Transplantation.
Dr. Cárdenas is a Staff Member and Consultant of the Institute of Digestive Diseases and Metabolism at Hospital Clinic and Accredited Professor of Medicine (Catalan Agency for Quality Assessment) with the University of Barcelona. He pursued his Residency and Fellowship in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology at Boston University and Harvard Medical School at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Cardenas is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Jose Debes MD PhD is a Professor in Medicine at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. His work centers on mechanisms of hepatitis-related liver cancer as well as awareness on risk factors for hepatitis B and liver cancer. He founded and leads two research networks in Latin America and in Africa
Dr. Hoshida is Professor of Internal Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is a hepatologist and physician scientist with expertise in translational research in liver cirrhosis and cancer with a specific focus on risk prediction, disease classification, and chemoprevention/therapeutic discovery.
Natalie J. Torok is a physician-scientist at Stanford University and the VA Palo Alto. The Torok lab's primary research interests are in the pathomechanisms of liver fibrosis and matrix remodeling and exploring translational aspects to prevent liver disease progression. Metabolic dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is becoming the leading cause of chronic liver disease and liver cancer, and her lab is interested in deciphering how dynamic changes in the liver matrix accelerate this process in certain conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Malhi is a consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology with a joint appointment in Physiology and a Professor of Medicine and Physiology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. She currently serves as the Vice Chair for the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Malhi's laboratory studies lipotoxic endoplasmic reticulum stress, with particular research interest in mechanisms of liver injury and inflammation in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis pathogenesis.
