Pavel Strnad

Pavel Strnad is a full professor and leading physician at the University Hospital Aachen, Germany. Since 2008, he is heading his own research lab focusing on translational gastroenterology. In 2016, he was named one of the Rising Stars of the United European Gastroenterology. He is heading the European initiative for study of alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency-associated liver disease. His interests include metabolic liver disease, liver cirrhosis and complications as well as analysis of complex datasets.

Karen R Hoyt

Karen is an author, educator, writer, blogger, and patient advocate. Personal experience includes acute liver failure, advanced liver disease, Hepatitis C, liver cancer, liver transplant, sarcopenia, pre and post transplant nutrition, rural health care, and stigma. Cody Reynolds

Cody is the parent of a pediatric liver recipient. His daughter received a liver transplant in 2021 at Texas Children's Hospital after she was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia shortly after she was born in 2019 at Oklahoma Children's Hospital. He credits the transplant team and surgeons for allowing his daughter to thrive after her transplant. Cody serves as member on the OPTN board of directors, and a member of the Biliary Atresia Research and Education (BARE) Taskforce.

Yuko Kono

Dr. Kono is a transplant hepatologist at UC San Diego, with expertise in liver imaging and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) diagnosis. She graduated from Kyoto University School of Medicine and trained in hepatology and radiology. Dr. Kono is a recognized leader in contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), particularly for liver imaging. She has published 107 peer-reviewed articles and chaired the CEUS LI-RADS working group from 2014 to 2020, during which she established the CEUS LI-RADS algorithm.
