TCPOBOP‐Induced Hepatomegaly and Hepatocyte Proliferation are Attenuated by Combined Disruption of MET and EGFR Signaling
Bharat Bhushan, John W. Stoops, Wendy M. Mars, Anne Orr, William C. Bowen, Shirish Paranjpe, George K. Michalopoulos – 11 June 2018 – TCPOBOP (1,4‐Bis [2‐(3,5‐Dichloropyridyloxy)] benzene) is a constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) agonist that induces robust hepatocyte proliferation and hepatomegaly without any liver injury or tissue loss. TCPOBOP‐induced direct hyperplasia has been considered to be CAR‐dependent with no evidence of involvement of cytokines or growth factor signaling.

Naim Alkhouri, Fred Poordad, Eric Lawitz – 7 June 2018 – Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered the hepatic manifestation of insulin resistance, which is the hallmark of type 2 diabetes (T2D). NAFLD is a known risk factor for developing T2D and has a very high prevalence in those with existing T2D. The diabetes spectrum includes several conditions from prediabetes to T2D to insulin‐dependent diabetes leading to macrovascular and microvascular complications.
Patatin‐like phospholipase domain containing 3 variants differentially impact metabolic traits in individuals at high risk for cardiovascular events
Sabrina Rüschenbaum, Katharina Schwarzkopf, Mireen Friedrich‐Rust, Florian Seeger, Fabian Schoelzel, Yolanda Martinez, Stefan Zeuzem, Jörg Bojunga, Christian M. Lange – 6 June 2018 – Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs738409 C>G in the patatin‐like phospholipase domain containing 3 (PNPLA3) gene results in an amino acid exchange from isoleucin to methionine at position I148M of PNPLA3.
