Sammy Saab, Sarah H. Park, Masashi Mizokami, Masao Omata, Alessandra Mangia, Ed Eggleton, Yanni Zhu, Steven J. Knox, Phil Pang, Mani Subramanian, Kris Kowdley, Nezam H. Afdhal – 24 December 2015 – Elderly subjects have been historically underrepresented in clinical trials involving antiviral hepatitis C therapies. The aim of this analysis was to retrospectively evaluate the safety and efficacy of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) by age groups of <65 years versus ≥65 years among subjects enrolled in phase 3 trials.

Shuai Xiao, Rui‐Min Chang, Ming‐Yang Yang, Xiong Lei, Xiao Liu, Wen‐Bin Gao, Jing‐Lei Xiao, Lian‐Yue Yang – 23 December 2015 – Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most lethal cancers worldwide because of metastasis. Epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) is widely considered to be crucial to the invasion‐metastasis cascade during cancer progression. Actin‐like 6A (ACTL6A) is initially verified important for cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration. In this study, we find that ACTL6A plays an essential role in metastasis and EMT of HCC.
Elliot B. Tapper, Michelle Lai – 23 December 2015 – Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is highly prevalent and associated with decreased quality of life (QOL). The currently available treatment is weight loss through lifestyle modification. However, longitudinal QOL data are lacking on whether weight loss improves QOL. We prospectively enrolled 151 patients with NAFLD from 2009 to 2014.
Ming‐Da Wang, Han Wu, Gong‐Bo Fu, Hui‐Lu Zhang, Xu Zhou, Liang Tang, Li‐Wei Dong, Chen‐Jie Qin, Shuai Huang, Ling‐Hao Zhao, Min Zeng, Meng‐Chao Wu, He‐Xin Yan, Hong‐Yang Wang – 23 December 2015 – Solid tumors often suffer from suboptimal oxygen and nutrient supplies. This stress underlies the requirement for metabolic adaptation. Aberrantly activated de novo lipogenesis is critical for development and progression of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
