Dr. Liangpunsakul is a Professor of Medicine, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Indiana University. His research focuses on basic, translational, and clinical studies to determine the pathogenesis of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). He is the principal investigator of research projects funded by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (Merit Review) as well as the National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIAAA). He has authored or co-authored more than 250 peer-reviewed articles.
Marco Arrese, MD (Santiago, Chile, 1964) is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile School of Medicine in Santiago. Trained in Chile and the U.S. (Yale University), he is an expert in liver diseases who has focused his research activities on both cholestatic and fatty liver diseases. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers on gastrointestinal and liver diseases in high-impact factor journals and delivered lectures at national and international meetings.
Dr. Constantine (Dean) Karvellas is a Professor of Critical Care Medicine and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. He has been an attending intensivist in the E. Garner King General Systems Intensive Care Unit since 2009 and is involved with the Liver Transplant program as a Hepatologist. Dr. Karvellas previously was a co-investigator in the NIH-funded United States Acute Liver Failure study group (US ALFSG).

Dr. Emily R. Perito is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at UCSF in the Departments of Pediatrics and of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She is Medical Director of UCSF's multi-disciplinary Pediatric Liver Center. She is Co-Chair of the Starzl Network for Excellence in Pediatric Transplantation and helps lead their efforts to improve the efficacy and reduce the burden of immunosuppression for children after liver transplant.
