We queried the National Database for data from 2010 to 2017 for all LLDs. The primary outcomes were 30‐day and 90‐day readmission rates.

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) creation may be considered in patients at high risk if hemorrhage cannot be controlled endoscopically.
