Margaux Hermida, Ancelin Preel, Eric Assenat, Lauranne Piron, Christophe Cassinotto, José Ursic‐Bedoya, Chloé Guillot, Astrid Herrero, Fabrizio Panaro, Georges‐Philippe Pageaux, Boris Guiu – 31 December 2020 – Percutaneous thermal ablation is a validated treatment option for small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Steatotic HCC can be reliably detected by magnetic resonance imaging.
Akihiko Kimura, Tatehiro Kagawa, Hajime Takei, Yoshihiro Maruo, Hiroshi Sakugawa, Takahiro Sasaki, Tsuyoshi Murai, Nakayuki Naritaka, Hajime Takikawa, Hiroshi Nittono – 31 December 2020 – Organic anion transporting polypeptide (OATP) 1B1 (gene, solute carrier organic anion transporter family member 1B1 [SLCO1B1]) and OATP1B3 (SLCO1B3) serve as transporters for hepatic uptake of important endogenous substances and several commonly prescribed drugs. Inactivation of both proteins together causes Rotor syndrome. How this OATP1B1/1B3 defect disturbs bile acid (BA) metabolism is largely unknown.
Norifumi Iseda, Shinji Itoh, Tomoharu Yoshizumi, Kyohei Yugawa, Akinari Morinaga, Takahiro Tomiyama, Takeo Toshima, Kenichi Kohashi, Yoshinao Oda, Masaki Mori – 30 December 2020 – The clinicopathological features of carcinomas expressing AT‐rich interaction domain 1a (ARID1A) and programmed death ligand 1 (PD‐L1) in HCC are poorly understood. Here, we examined ARID1A and PD‐L1 expression in surgically resected primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the association of ARID1A and PD‐L1 expression with clinicopathological features and patient outcomes.
Anusha Vittal, Mark Shapses, Bashar Sharma, Disha Sharma, Qian Sun, Maureen Sampson, Wilson Lee, Gil Ben Yakov, Yaron Rotman – 29 December 2020 – The recently developed lipoprotein insulin resistance index (LP‐IR) incorporates lipoprotein particle numbers and sizes and is considered to reflect both hepatic and peripheral IR. As tissue IR is a strong component of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) pathogenesis, we aimed to assess the degree by which LP‐IR associates with hepatic fat content. This was a single‐center retrospective analysis of patients with NAFLD.
Friedrich Reusswig, Nastaran Fazel Modares, Marius Brechtenkamp, Leonard Wienands, Irena Krüger, Kristina Behnke, Melissa M. Lee‐Sundlov, Diran Herebian, Jürgen Scheller, Karin M. Hoffmeister, Dieter Häussinger, Margitta Elvers – 28 December 2020
David J. Pinato, Petros Fessas, Gonzalo Sapisochin, Thomas U. Marron – 28 December 2020
Akshata Moghe, Karl E. Anderson – 28 December 2020
Omar Alshuwaykh, Allison Kwong, Aparna Goel, Amanda Cheung, Renumathy Dhanasekaran, Aijaz Ahmed, Tami Daugherty, Deepti Dronamraju, Radhika Kumari, W. Ray Kim, Mindie H. Nguyen, Carlos O. Esquivel, Waldo Concepcion, Marc Melcher, Andy Bonham, Thomas Pham, Amy Gallo, Paul Yien Kwo – 27 December 2020 – Liver transplantation (LT) is definitive treatment for end‐stage liver disease. This study evaluated factors predicting successful evaluation in patients transferred for urgent inpatient LT evaluation.
Shaminie Athinarayanan, Yang‐Yi Fan, Xiaokun Wang, Evelyn Callaway, Defeng Cai, Naga Chalasani, Robert S. Chapkin, Wanqing Liu – 25 December 2020 – The fatty acid desaturase 1 (FADS1), also known as delta‐5 desaturase (D5D), is one of the rate‐limiting enzymes involved in the desaturation and elongation cascade of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) to generate long‐chain PUFAs (LC‐PUFAs). Reduced function of D5D and decreased hepatic FADS1 expression, as well as low levels of LC‐PUFAs, were associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
