Hemostatic Alterations in Patients With Cirrhosis: From Primary Hemostasis to Fibrinolysis

They involve prohemorrhagic and prothrombotic alterations at each of these steps. Patients with cirrhosis exhibit multifactorial thrombocytopenia and in vitro thrombocytopathy, counterbalanced by increased von Willebrand factor.
