Joao Seda Neto, Flávia H. Feier, Ana Luiza Bierrenbach, Cristiana M. Toscano, Eduardo A. Fonseca, Renata Pugliese, Helry L. Candido, Marcel R. Benavides, Gilda Porta, Paulo Chapchap – 2 April 2015 – Biliary atresia (BA) is the main diagnosis leading to liver transplantation (LT) in children. When diagnosed early in life, a Kasai portoenterostomy (Kasai‐PE) can prevent or postpone LT. Instances of previous operations can result in difficulties during the LT. We hypothesized that a previous Kasai‐PE could affect LT outcomes.
Christopher Lee, Lauren Ihde, Andrew Kim, Idoia Santos, Lea Matsuoka, Yong Cen, Melissa Wallman, Edward Grant – 2 April 2015 – No guidelines exist for the management of pulmonary nodules in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who are being evaluated for liver transplantation. The 172 patients with HCC who were listed for liver transplant at our institution received both pretransplant chest computed tomography (CT) and follow‐up CT.

Greten, Xin Wei Wang – 1 April 2015 – Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients suffer from a poor survival rate and a high incidence of postoperative recurrence. The hepatic microenvironment plays a significant role in the initiation, progression, and recurrence of HCC; however, the causal mechanisms of these phenomena are unclear.
