Nicole J. Kim

Nicole Kim, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Washington. Dr. Kim has a research interest in improving clinical outcomes in liver disease and promoting the early detection of liver cancer through timely receipt of screening.

Justin Boike

Dr. Justin Boike is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is a practicing Hepatologist and Transplant Hepatologist. He cares for patients with a wide range of liver diseases including cirrhosis and liver transplant. His clinical and research interest is in the management of complex portal hypertension issues such as chronic portal vein thrombosis (PVT), non-invasive assessment of portal hypertension, non-cirrhotic portal hypertension and the utilization and outcomes of TIPS.

Kara Wegermann

Dr. Wegermann is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University. She completed her residency, chief residency, GI and transplant hepatology fellowships at Duke. Her research interest is MASLD in persons with HIV. She is currently funded by an ACG Junior Faculty Development Award.

Andrew Moon

I am a transplant hepatologist, clinical researcher, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina (UNC). I practice within the UNC Multidisciplinary HCC Clinic. The overall goal of my clinical work and research is to improve outcomes among patients with liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by identifying risk factors for liver disease and HCC development, optimizing earlier disease detection and designing interventions to proactively address symptoms and liver-related decompensation related to HCC treatments.

Barbara Testoni

Barbara Testoni is a research scientist and team leader at The Lyon Hepatology Institute EVEREST, Lyon, France. She obtained her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of Milan, working on eukaryotic transcriptional regulation in the setting of skin development. Then, she moved to the University of Rome "La Sapienza", where she began to work on liver disease and type-I interferon signaling.

Harry LA Janssen

Harry L.A. Janssen graduated from medical school in Nijmegen, Netherlands. During his study he spent one year as research fellow in Hepatology at the Mayo Clinic. He obtained his PhD at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam on the role of immune modulating therapy in chronic hepatitis B. Following his training in Internal Medicine in Leiden and Gastroenterology at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, he returned to the Mayo Clinic for a Research Fellowship in Hepatology at the Center of Basic Research in Digestive Diseases.

Alexander Kuo

Dr. Alexander Kuo is Professor of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He serves as the Medical Director of Liver Transplantation and Program Director of the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship.

Gene Im

Dr. Gene Im is a transplant hepatologist and Director of the Alcohol-associated Liver Disease Program (ADAPT) at Columbia University, NY, USA. His clinical and research interests are in alcohol-associated liver disease, alcohol-associated hepatitis and liver transplantation. He is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the AASLD ALD SIG.

Michele Pritchard

Dr. Michele Pritchard is a Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS studying how the stroma - extracellular matrix and non-parenchymal cells - regulates would repair and aging across tissue types, including the liver after alcohol exposure. In addition, Dr. Pritchard directs the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences at KUMC.
