Ling Yang, Ph.D., is a Professor at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and a core member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. She received her Ph.D. from Kent State University and completed postdoctoral training with Gökhan Hotamisligil at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Yang's research focuses on organelle stress signaling and immunometabolic regulation in obesity, MASLD/MASH, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Pavel Strnad is a department chair at the Medical University of Lausitz in Cottbus, Germany. Since 2008, he is heading his own research lab focusing on translational gastroenterology. In 2016, he was named one of the Rising Stars of the United European Gastroenterology. He is heading the European initiative for study of alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency-associated liver disease. His interests include metabolic liver disease, liver cirrhosis and complications as well as analysis of complex datasets. His clinical focus is on emerging drugs, end-stage liver disease and liver transplantation.

Dr. Béatrice Bailly-Maitre is an Inserm Research Director at the Mediterranean Center for Molecular Medicine (C3M), INSERM UMR1065, in Nice, France, where she co-leads the "Metabolic Diseases and Cancers" team. Her research focuses on ER stress signaling and IRE1-dependent pathways in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MAFLD/MASH), fibrosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. She trained in unfolded protein response (UPR) and metabolism during postdoctoral work with John Reed (USA) and Jens Brüning (Germany).

He was a Helen Hay Whitney fellow with Nobel Laureate Dr.

I am a physician scientist studying autoimmune hepatitis and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis. I am interested in the temporal-spatial patterning of liver disease to understand mechanisms of disease progression.

Tom is an associate professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. His lab studies how cells respond to chronic endoplasmic reticulum stress and the impact of ER stress signaling on liver function.

Peter J. Hotez, M.D., Ph.D. is Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics and Molecular Virology & Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine where he is also the Co-director of the Texas Children's Center for Vaccine Development (CVD) and Texas Children's Hospital Endowed Chair of Tropical Pediatrics.

Saul J. Karpen, M.D., Ph.D., FAASLD, is the inaugural chief scientific officer for the Stravitz-Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease and Metabolic Health at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., where he is a professor of internal medicine and adjunct professor in pediatric medicine at the VCU School of Medicine. He holds the Phillip B. Hylemon Endowed Chair of Medicine and Microbiology and is a pediatric hepatologist at the VCU Children's Hospital of Richmond.
