The adult zebrafish has been an underutilized tool to study liver fibrosis. We aimed to characterize the single‐cell transcriptome of the adult zebrafish liver to determine its utility as a model for studying liver fibrosis.

Preservation solutions for static cold storage in donation after circulatory death and donation after brain death liver transplantation in the United States

Recent International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) guidelines have recommended avoiding HTK for donation after circulatory death (DCD) grafts based on older reports.

This study aimed to compare the performance of gamma‐glutamyl transpeptidase‐to‐platelet ratio (GPR), aspartate aminotransferase‐to‐platelet ratio index (APRI), and fibrosis‐4 (FIB‐4) in evaluating liver fibrosis stages and to identify optimized cutoffs to exclude cirrhosis.

Transcriptomic profiling of a multiethnic pediatric NAFLD cohort reveals genes and pathways associated with disease

The mechanisms that drive NAFLD disease progression in this specific patient population remain poorly defined. In this study, we obtained liver biopsy samples from a multiethnic cohort of pediatric patients with NAFLD (n = 52, mean age = 13.6 years) and healthy liver controls (n = 5).

Westbrook – 20 March 2022 – Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) matching is not routinely performed for liver transplantation as there is no consistent evidence of benefit; however, the impact of HLA mismatching remains uncertain. We explored the effect of class I and II HLA mismatching on graft failure and mortality. A total of 1042 liver transplants performed at a single center between 1999 and 2016 with available HLA typing data were included.
